RIS – Reservation and Information System of the German Youth Hostel Association
The RIS, the German Youth Hostel Association's reservation and information system, provides you the possibility to:
- look for vacancies,
- submit a booking enquiry (at best in the case of group stays),
- book overnight stays (families and individual guests).
Your confirmation or contract will reach you per email, fax or post. Direct bookings are not possible in the case of group stays due to the various arrangements that may have to be made, but organisers of group stays can send in a booking enquiry on the RIS system.

Age restriction
Youth hostels are primarily intended for young people. For this reason, individuals over the age of 27 can only be accommodated in Bavarian youth hostels on an availability basis.
This age restriction does not apply to group leaders or families accompanied by at least one minor.
A surcharge on the quoted price is charged to guests older than 27.
