Lindau's unique location at the corner of Germany bordering on Austria and Switzerland makes it particularly attractive as a leisure destination, and thanks to its relaxed atmosphere and modern facilities it is also the ideal setting for a class excursion. Group leaders appreciate its central location a mere 15 minutes' walk away from the old quarter of Lindau, attractions such as the adjacent Limare fun waterpark and spa, and such amenities as single rooms equipped with an en-suite shower/toilet and the broad range of activity rooms.

The hostel is only a few minutes' walk away from Lake Constance, and the nearby historical old quarter on the island of Lindau is ideal for taking a stroll or exploring. The leisure options and excursion destinations in the vicinity are practically limitless, no matter whether reached on foot, by bike, public transport or in one's own vehicle.

Next Airports are Munich Airport International (180 km)and Stuttgart (200 km). The nearest regional airport in Friedrichshafen is only 22 km.

Direct connections from Dortmund (InterCity), Karlsruhe, Ulm, Munich, Basel and Zurich. Whether on the Eurocity or the Interregio, you can travel directly to our holiday island. Regular services mean that further travel options (with just one change required) are available from every direction, in most cases hourly.
Municipal bus service to the hostel
The Lindau municipal bus runs every half hour and is an ideal way of getting to the youth hostel and all other destinations in town. To reach the youth hostel, simply get on a line 1 or 2 bus, change at the ZUP stop onto a line 3 bus towards Zech, and get off at the Jugendherberge stop .
By car/coach
You can drive to Lindau on the A 96, B 12, B 18 or via the B 31. Continue to „Lindau-Insel“ and follow the signs „Jugendherberge“.
