Enjoy music, culture and life in Burghausen!
The castle and old quarter:
Burghausen can boast the longest castle in Europe - a kilometre of history packed with museums, a drama academy and apartments – plus an impressive town square surrounded by mediaeval edifices and many splendid buildings.

Music and culture:
The International Jazz Week, which is held every August, is the highlight of Burghausen's cultural year. Old customs and traditions also have their place, while the many churches and museums in the town are also worth a visit.

Entertainment and leisure:
Burghausen's quality of life is also reflected by the broad variety of historical and modern festivities taking place within its boundaries. The town is also ideal for such recreational pursuits as canoeing, swimming (in an indoor baths and at two open-air pools), ice skating and curling. An outing in a boat based on the old salt barges that used to ply the river is a special attraction in summer.
