Location & Directions

A city of culture, music and trade fairs, Leipzig is a place of superlatives: It is home to Europe's largest terminal station, Germany's oldest coffee house and the tallest town hall tower in the country, while Belantis is the largest amusement park in eastern Germany and the riparian forest of the Auenwald is unrivalled in Europe, and the city also boasts Europe's largest contraction site. The Panometer, a former gasometer, treats visitors to the world's largest panoramic picture, and Leipzig Zoo is world-famous.
The Youth Hostel is located in the northeastern part of the city centre, in the Schönefeld area.

Arriving by bus/car

By car/bus from the motorway:
Motorway A14 until the exit "Leipzig- Nordost/Taucha" and continue on the B87 towards Leipzig or motorway A14 until the exit "Leipzig-Ost" and continue on the B6 towards Leipzig. On Adenauerallee (at the "Permoser Eck" shopping centre) turn right onto Volksgartenstraße.
By car/bus from the city centre:
Head for Torgau or take the B6 towards Wurzen. On Adenauerallee (at the "Permoser Eck" shopping centre) turn left onto Volksgartenstraße.

Arriving by plane

Leipzig Airport, then bus to the city centre and take tram 1.

Public transport to the Youth Hostel

Tram:
From the "Hauptbahnhof" (main station) take tram 1 towards Thekla / Mockau or tram 1E towards Schönefeld or bus N6 until the stop "Löbauer Straße" (7 stops); approx. 4 minutes' walk (follow signs)
