The big "B" and Berlin hostels

Why you have to visit Berlin...

In an international survey tourists voted Berlin the most popular city in Germany. What’s its secret?

Since the reunion Berlin developed itself. Offices, malls and hotels were built, art and culture flourished and Berlin became capital. The parliament sits in the German Reichstag, the biggest assembly room of Europe. The city is colourful and trendy, chic and beautiful, inspiring and multicultural and most of it international.

Nothing is impossible: the highest building of Germany (TV tower), the biggest shopping mall of the continent (KaDeWe), the largest universal museum in the world (Museum Island). Furthermore there is the largest Open Air Gallery in the world: 1.3 km of the Berlin Wall are still existing, painted with graffiti, named East Side Gallery. The unique museum of Contemporary Trash Art is located in Berlin as well. Beside expensive shopping malls visitors can rummage in individual scene shops or at flea markets. There are diverse cafés and pubs, the restaurants offer dishes from all over the world. At the chocolate house visitors can see how their own chocolate with an individual taste is made. Playing minigolf in black light connects arts and sports.

All the sights can be reached by public transport 24/7. Whoever hops on line 100 gets a sightseeing tour for small budget. A view out of the window shows how green the city even with 3.5 million inhabitants is. Many parks like the “Tiergarten” and some rivers are an oasis of calm.

Youth hostels: the best places to stay in Berlin

The Youth Hostel Berlin International is located on the grass but also in the centre of the capital. People from all over the world meet here to get fascinated by the metropolis of Berlin. Other ones just start then. The nightlife-scouts of the Youth Hostel show the guests the most famous and fancy clubs and even the insider tips of the colourful scene.
