An illuminating Christmas tale about energy that powers kids’ imaginations.
Newspapers write about it, politicians discuss it, global businesses champion it and every single one of us uses it. Sustainable energy is one of today’s biggest and most complex topics. But how can we talk about sustainable energy to the people who will benefit from it most in the future - our children?
With this challenge in mind, DJH and Siemens teamed up to create an interactive children’s story, which introduces the subject of sustainable energy in a playful, entertaining and educational way.
The result is The Curious Christmas Star, written by Martin Gillan and illustrated by award-winning British illustrator, Jess Mikhail.
This magical Christmas story follows the adventures of the twinkliest - and most curious - star in the whole night sky. On Christmas Eve he sets off to find out what makes him shine so bright. On his travels he meets a snowman, a lantern, a reindeer and possibly his own twin brother... and along the way he learns all about sustainable energy but not what makes him shine. Just when the Curious Christmas Star is losing all hope of finding an answer he remembers to wish upon a star...
The Curious Christmas Star app combines charming animation, cute sound effects, and informative pop-up pages to reveal how energy from the wind, sun and sea can be used to power our homes, towns and cities - as well as light up our Christmas trees. It’s a perfect gift for curious young minds who want to know what makes things shine, twinkle and glow.
